Hello fellow travellers!!! Family travellers especially!!

Postby Kittycat » Wed Apr 21, 2010 12:26 pm

Hi all, we are a family of 7. 5 boys aged 12/10/9/5/nearly 2.

We are in Perth. We plan to head off later this year (as soon as the house sells) around Asutralia. We may take 3 months or it may end up 12 months, we have no plans and also plan to include Tassie and NZ in the trip too.

We have family in Sydney and NZ so that will make the trip easier.

I currently home school so nothing there will change at all :)

Any other families doing the trip? How did you cope? Im eager to talk to you all!!!

We are still in the process of research for the car and caravan, so advice at any time is appreciated!!

Nice to meet you all!

Hi Kittycat and WELCOME to the forum. Can't say you will see much in 3 months so suggest you consider more the 12 months as you mentioned.

Ther are some posts further back where this has been discussed and some recommendations made. Might be a good idea to search back for that info.

We do have a few WA members on the forum here as well and no doubt they'll turn up pretty soon to say 'hello' to you.

We've never done a big trip like you're planning on doing, but did travel up the red centre 10yrs ago(when we only had 4 kids) in a Tarago....now that was interesting.

Hi KittyCat,

Lucky You! Your family will love it. If you really want to enjoy it take the 12 months option then you can really enjoy every stop without rushing.

Australia is an amazing place to travel, my family have travelled from Vic to the centre and Top End several times. Absolutely awesome!!

Cheers Tina
