The reason we've looked into roof boxes or luggage baskets is because it is a way cheaper solution for us versus a towbar and quality trailer.

We had a local guy that works with canvas make it up to our specs ($300) and we have used it on both CT's. Keeps everything dry also as the zip flaps are fastened down with velcro also. It is kept in place by ties at the front of the bag which are secured/tied to the front bar of the trailer and then we put rachet staps front to back also. The new CT is going to be modified like the old CT because we had side rails on the old one but the new has them front & back not on the sides but we have a mate that is going to add and powdercoat them for us. :armsup

Just another storage option. We only use it for longer trips not for overnighters or weekends.

thats a darn good idea, ill be keeping that in the back of the mind to see if i can use it. we got an extendable canvas cover for the camper that gives us an extra 10cm of room and ive started to throw stuff in there as well but space is still an issue

Picked up the new roof racks (to fit the factory rails) and 1.2mx0.9m luggage basket this week and did a trial pack. Everything fits almost a little too perfectly, so we're very happy. The luggage basket is a god send ... even have by camp kitchen up top there and its not too high (we're putting a tarp and cargo net over the top for the trip this weekend.

Have posted a few photos to show the luggage basket.
