as we have two kids [7 and 5 ] we would like to take a few days to get to and back from our destination .

i love fishing so a bit of water wouldnt go unnoticed as well .

any sugestions on where we should go ? [ be nice :*** ]

Are you planning on staying in a caravan park or freecamp?

Not been to Lightening Ridge but have been to Broken Hill/Silverton and it was great.

Are you planning to stay in LRidge for the whole week?

We are in Central West NSW and we usually head Vic way, have been down the Murray as far as Swan Hill and want to go further towards SA next time, also been to Deniliquin on the river (beautiful) and Abercrombie Caves but not enough to do for a week there though it was stunning and would be absolutely FREEZING in June hols!!!!! ::() also been to Lakes Entrance and Metung and heading to Mallacoota in Oct long weekend for 5 nights.

Its a great forum here with heaps of knowledge. I have found it a great help and someone here will have some info for you.

Any other places you were thinking of?

Hope this helps a little???? :)

Thanks craig, our is only that big to fit three teenage kids in it!!! :*** :***

We would love to do the Darling River Run but won't be for a few years yet.

Have read a few articles on it and one only recently but not sure which mag it was though  It think it was 4wd action one or on the road???

This forum post shows you most of the run and the Darling should look fabulous after all that rain.

These maps were also good as you could just pick which bit you had time to do. http://www.visitoutbacknsw.com/travel-and-touring-australia/outback-driving/the-darling-river-run.html

Hope this helps a bit.

Yeah, I'd concur with xmasbaby, a Darling River Run from Wilcannia to Bourke would be pretty good.

Alternatively Wilcannia, south to Menindee and then onto Mungo.

Plenty of outback NSW for you there.

Cheers.
