Very impressive, Pauly.
I don't like campfires without rocks. Apart from the safety aspect, they just look better, I find.
"My kids love fire poking sticks"
I reckon it's one of those things that I'd rather try and teach my daughter now she still somewhat values my wisdom.
I allow her to poke the fire so I can teach her what's safe and what's not. She is also allowed to use sharp knives and I'm trying to get her to boil water for my coffee on the camping stove in the morning! (I obviously wouldn't let her get the pot with boiling water off the stove just yet!)
A friend of mine went camping with her 20yo son the other day and when I reminded her to take an axe to chop the wood, she said she'd never trust him with an axe.
I hope my daughter will be an excellent wood chopper, fire maker, camp cook, etc. by the time she's 14!
