If you are planning a trip to Alice Springs, our advice is NOT to stay at the Ross River Resort about 80 km from Alice Springs in the East MacDonnells. The place is a dump and charges $15 per person per night for a campsite. And don't expect a friendly welcome.
The rest of the Mac Donnell Ranges are lovely and for R&R and time out to do the washing we recommend the MacDonnell Range Holiday park (BIG4) - busy like all the parks n Alice Springs but quiet, clean and LARGE grassy shaded sites.

Thanks for the heads up....Big4 CPs are not always popular with some campers here as they are seldom, if ever...pet friendly.
The worst day camping still beats the best day working

We’ve stayed at Ross River and found it ok, large grassed sites and very quiet. Sure the amenities block is old however it was cleaned regularly when we where there.
