Is that NP you camped in, I seem to recall hearing of a Byfield NP somewhere.
The Upper Stoney Creek, Waterpark, and Red rock camping areas are in the state forest next to the Byfield national park. The NP area then goes right up to the beach, but you need a 4wd as soon as you hit NP so that is out for us! I think it is the Red rock camping area which is right on the edge of the state forest and NP, and it also has dogs allowed, but also has a crocodile warning!
So now, when's the next camp??
This weekend! lol We are heading out to Carnarvan Gorge!
Yes, I think I will quickly become addicted to this camping thing!
Did the Family enjoy it?
Yup, Mister 11yo complained during the walk but I think that was more about technology withdrawl symptoms then anything else, he has Asperger's syndrome and really does not cope with change well so I was quite worried about how he would react! All up it went a lot better then I had expected! He loved the fire as did the other 2 boys (and their Dad! lol) and the marshmellows! And he slept like a log! Dave (the hubby) loved it, all the caveman tendencies coming out around the open fire! lol
What are the nasties in the water?
Some type of stonefish.. I didn't catch the name but apparently they give a nasty sting if you step on them!
