LAKE BURRENDONG

LAKE BURRENDONG

Postby xmasbaby67 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 4:20 pm

FINALLY!!!

We went to Lake Burrendong on the June long weekend with a mate and his kids.
It was my first time towing the CT!!!!! :--? I know not a biggy for some but in my world it's pretty big stuff as hubby usually drives but he towed the boat!!!!!
Great location with great views!!!! We stayed on a powered site. The campgrounds were lovely and grassy, a long way from the water but that didn't worry us. The amenities were very tired and old but did the job, coin operated showers and free bbq. Was really cold at night (-4) but was beautiful and sunny during the day. Had a campfire going the whole 2 days we were there and the reds flowed nicely. Now for some pics: :?#
Our view during the day, early morning with the low cloud and at sunset:

Great pics XB,

Have put it on our must do list.

This year i decided that i want to camp somewhere different every time and somewhere that we have never been before hence why we ended up at Mallacoota in the July school holidays. ( yep we chickened out of Wee Jasper at the last minute )

i should get off my :booty and post a report.

Can you swim in Lake Burrendong.

Love the pic of the kids sleeping outside in the swags.

SN: Pretty sure you can swim there as you can waterski but it was a bit chilly the weekend we were there but my hubby put the boat in and unsuccessfully tried to catch some fish!!! :--? I stayed up by the campfire with my mag, cuppa, the view O and yes my chocolate!!! :?#

Would love to read your review of Mallacoota as we are going there over the Oct long weekend!! Where did you stay???? We are staying in the council CP(Mallacoota Foreshore CP). It's right on the lake and we also have a boat mooring for our boat in front of our campsite (which is nice and close to the boat ramp & amenities block & is WATERFRONT!!!)
And would love to see your pics too SN!!! :armsup

Lin: Yes I was pretty contented that weekend and could have stayed for a week, I was really settled in and getting me to pack up on Monday was a pretty hard task!!!!

Hey XB,

Sorry this is a quick reply and without pics.

We loved Mallacoota.

We thought it had good clean amentities, friendly management and a sensational outlook.

We were the only family with kids there as it was winter.the only other people staying at the CP were Grey Nomads.
We did some walking and fishing.
We couldnt venture into the adjoining NP due to our gorgeous border collie x but took her to the nearby beach a few times and she had a ball, one very worn out dog.

The only thing for us personally XB is the amount of sites that they have there.
We tend not to camp at such busy places and i feel it would be too many people for us in the busier months.
So if this doesn't worry you it would be great.

The bakery across the road was very yummy.
