Brisbane - bush walk 22/10/06 - now has pics

anyone interested in doing a little walk? It's near Binna Burra. Might take between 5 to 8 hours to do, (if we don't die or get lost). It's a pretty hard slog for unfit people. It's a awesome place with small caves to crawl through. I would want to start walking at 7am. Last time i was there, there was no tracks, so you are just walking through bush.

just a little overdue, but here the trip report for this event.

we left my place at 5.20am, and home at 7.30pm, was a big day. took 7 hours to do the walk.

I drove to the wrong place so we wasted about 1 1/2 hours. Once i found where i was supposed to be going it all seemed to go pretty well, except it took a bit longer than expected and i think we all realised how unfit we all were. It took about 3 hours to get to the caves, where we explored for a while, took some pics, then found a place to sit, had some munchies and chatted for an hour or so. We then decended back to the valley, and then managed to keep a cracking pace of about 1 KPH up the other side of the valley, eventually getting back to the car. An awesome day though, it was very dry in the caves and the dirt on the floor was just really dust, and we had it everywhere all over us. I will hopefully return there in a few months when it gets a little cooler as it's way too hot to be slogging ya guts out up a mountain.

Me, Royce and Jock. Two caves entrances behind us.

This cave is just big enough for a person to crawl on their stomach, goes for about 10 metres and leads into a small room, with an opening on to a cliff face.

This is one of the entry passages that leads in to the labrinth.

I didn't even know Binna Burra had caves. It looked like quite an adventure I will have to follow-up on one of these trips of yours one of these days. Where are all the rest of the Queenslander members? Probably on Xmas holidays. Good pics Meeky, thanks.

if anyone would like a lead up there i'd be happy to show the way. The cave entrances aren't obivious but wont be offended at all if you do you're own thing. But we always want pics
