I have GOOD news & i HAVE bad news.........

River Retreat now only have 2 sites left...To make it worse, It seems that the People from down South don't want to leave our 'Warm' little State = They won't go home !!!!,,,which is making it hard to get camp sites...also in conjunction with school holidays.....after all that....They do have ''2'' sites available for that period.

NOW,,,,Jenni from R/R Suggested maybe going to ''Mt. Warning'' where there is still plenty of room...//.. I have no problem with that and after reading that Poodle had recently been in the area and ''approved'' it...I decided to call them and have a ''chat''

The out-come is this------
YES......they can fit us (infinite number...ha) in.
YES......they can do either power or non power as required by the individual.
YES......they are ''PET'' friendly...(they have a seperate area for us....yay)
Prices are........$28- powered per 2 people,,per nite.
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''$24- un-powered ''' ''' ''' '''' '''' '''''

And the great news is YES.....(after beating him up).....They will do a ''SPECIAL'' for our singles (had to warn him about Gypsy...lol...untill he finally gave in)
$22-per nite powered........and........$18-per nite unpowered

I also arranged that...I will pay mine, on booking, in full......And YOU GUYS will only be required to book in and NOT have to pay / send a deposit...i.e ,,pay when you arrive.

So.....its up to the team...Do we move camp ?????

The guys name is ''Graham'',,,a very nice helpfull guy.....
---If we end up changing (well...it is ''julias week...and she likes to change...lol)....When booking PLEASE use the reference ''AUSSIE CAMP FORUM''....then he will know about the pricing and what area we will be staying in.....

Rests up to you guys !!!!!!!!

:cheers

(He even said....'Steve'' can come........lol)

Funny story there XB....Avis, Bailie & I were down in Tamworth for the music festival and decided to go for an 'extended' drive......
I rang my sister in Perth and she asked....where abouts are you guys....which we replied.....Casino.....OH,,,,She said....hope you have some good luck. ..(had to buy a lotto after that...ha...and it was a dud).....Took awhile to convince her that Casino was the name of the town.

:*** :*** :***

It was a nice little town. A long way from our families though.

We moved there when our son was only 3 months old....great fun moving with a newborn, NOT.

I will always remember that move as a horrible one and not just because we were first time parents with a newborn miles away from our families but because the people in the house before us had trashed it and we had hardly any curtains or blinds and the paint was peeling off the walls.....to make a bad situation worse when we got there the removalists needed their boxes back straight away so THEY had unpacked our entire house!!!!!! ::() I was finding stuff jammed in cupboards all over the house for months after......and the kitchen was just a Sh##fight......I just cried and wanted to go home to my Mum........so she came up to me instead to help sort out the mess while hubby started in his new position....... Ahhhh those were the days......what doesnt kill you just makes you stronger......in this case it certainly did..

Thanks Rosco.......now all that is to be done is recruit some people.

Of all those who first polled to go....I think there is only you and PJ who have shown any interest. Have not seen any of the others online in some time.

I think next time...if there is a next time...we should just decide on a location and a time and just put it up but not quite so far out time wise. Maybe only 3 weeks or so.

I members want to go they will work around it....if not...too bad.

Good idea in therory Gypsy....Problem is booking campsites at such short up in the 'Popular' Winter State ''Queensland'' can be a problem....especially when the Southern 'nomads' won't go home.......The lady from River Retreat said they keep extending their bookings...rather than head back while its still winter.

There may be a few members that haven't been on site for a few days to see the NEW CHANGE

:cheers
