My New Laptop

Postby GypsyLady » Fri Sep 10, 2010 3:35 pm

Finally got out to look at laptops today and this is what I decided on. I want one for when I am travelling next year.

http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/ho ... 33a-04n00j

Bought it from a lovely young man at Harvey Norman at Oxley.....who gave me the best deal.

I'd like to say I am excited but I think I am feeling a little overwhelmed by it all at the moment.

Hows the new laptop going Gypsy?

I also recently bought Kel a new Toshiba Notebook - I think its an L500?
18.4" screen - its a monster.
Brilliant to work on and I typically hate notebooks (had to use one all through secondary school)
I'm almost concidering giving up my desktop PC...

Win7 is such a dream to drive compared to Vista but im still getting used to it over XP. But i have to say I'm looking forward to my next PC build and putting Win7 on it.

I haven't used my home PC for about two years now!

I have my big Asus laptop beside the lounge at home, easy to access. I'm currently on a little Toshiba NB200 notebook, while my big laptop is rendering some HD video, so no need to home PCs anymore!

ahh more beers :cheers

Only bought it today Komodo....have not even taken it out of the box yet. I am currently running XP and am feeling that 7 will be a bit daunting. Bought an online tutorial for 7.

I also prefer a desktop but that is not at all suitable for travelling...so the laptop it is.

I actually considered Sony for a bit....liked the raised full size keyboard. It did not have enough RAM or HD for my liking.

Maybe I am glad I didn't follow through now...

I love my laptop! I bought it last May and I haven't used my desktop since, except once or twice for printing.

I didn't find Win7 a major jump from XP. Except the start menu, still don't like that. The rest I thought was pretty intuitive.

I am using a notepad with windows seven.
I find it ok.I think its a Downgrade from Xp.
Xp let you be in charge,I find 7 Wants to be boss.
Hope this makes sense,But anything is much better, than that piece of garbage Vista.

I've not had any experience with Vista but must say I have heard many people complain about it.

They told me today that you cannot buy XP any more but you can buy Win7 Professional which has an XP look alike component to it.
