Aldi camping sale

A place to talk about anything well just about anything (this is a family show remember).

I like going to aldi, you never know what bargains you are going to find. I buy their nappies as they are nearly half the price of huggies and they last hours longer with fewer blowouts. Very important.

Thanks for the heads up on the camping sale. Was hoping there was one coming up soon.
I'm looking at maybe getting a portaloo especially given that I'm preggos. I don't really know anything about them so is the aldi one decent enough and is the price good?
I do plan to have a look back at some previous threads on them. I do recall some chatter about how to clean them etc but as I didn't have one I didn't really take much note.

I am sure Rosco will appreciate that. :# :# :# :# :# :# :# :# :# :# :# :# :#
The Aldi potty looked ok to me,we bought a potty 4 years ago, still in its plastic, never used it.
Use non perfumed generic brand type napisan in the water of the potty.

Looks like you might need to get their wipes as well. Lucky they're quite good.

I have friends who bought the Aldi porta loo about 2 years ago and they use it regularly. They are more than happy with it.

Titch is right....the Woolies or Coles generic nappy soaker (not Aldi brand) is the best thing to use in the waste tank of your porta loo.

1 cap in about 1/2 to 1 litre warm water in the waste tank and you are ready for deposits.

Ah thanks, GL. I thought that was what I had read. My big concern is the the emptying of it. I really, really don't want to see what's in there. I'm sure that the container is somehow closed off and you just tip it out into the dump point. I am totally clueless.

Well sienna it will depend on what you use it for but basically you'll only see (if you look) a brownish sludge and nothing that is very easily recognisable unless you use it immediately before you empty it.

Yes it is all sealed inside the cassette and one thing is MUST DO is hold the release button down when emptying else it will blow back at you…..not at all pleasant as I am sure you can imagine. I have seen that happen many times at a dump point and whilst it is funny for the onlooker, I doubt the dumper feels the same way.

Normally camping I just bring mine home and dump in the loo at home….just easier and more private…unless of course I am travelling. Mind you it seldom gets used if there are amenities available at the campground.

I agree....people are more of a threat than any crawlies you might get in the bush.
