Horse back camping?

A place to talk about anything well just about anything (this is a family show remember).

Horse back camping?

Postby Ozzycamperboy » Mon Jan 15, 2007 10:16 pm

Anyone done it, or know if there's a place you can? Sorta, just go there, hire some horses , and trot off for a couple of days? I used to ride a bit as a kid, and always wanted to go on a horseback trek. Just a swag, and backpack 8) . Bottle of burbon wrapped safely in the swag.

Sounds nice. Kinda flashing back to reading something about Clip Clop treks, Noosa or Fraser Island. Not sure which or maybe both will search on net and see.

I think it EXTREMELY unlikely you will find a place that allows you to ride there horses without one of those “GAY” helmets. Insurance premiums have gone through the roof in recent years.

Besides, there not “GAY”. They save lives and millions of dollars of taxpayers money in hospital costs. The fact you don’t want to wear a helmet suggest to me you’re the kind who would probably need one.

Oi Im from Melbourne - I dont drink Lattes - I drink a double shot black espresso no sugar ;)

I personally cant stand horses - well actually I dont mind horses - its the bull sh!t "horsey" people I cant stand.

Most of my freinds who ride who have been injured by horses tend to get their injuries when leading the horse (dont ask my sister about that one - she ended up in hospital for 2.5 weeks when she was 14 and hasnt been able to show her legs in public since, she had major self esteem issues as a teenager at the beach because of it) or from being thrown into objects by the horse (trees fence posts cars etc) most of my freinds injuries from riding tend to be broken ribs and punctured lungs, crushed feet, broken legs or else kicks to the face from shoeing horses
