Wivenhoe overflow

Postby sienna » Sat Nov 13, 2010 10:01 am

Went out for a day trip on the weekend that Wivenhoe spillway was open. Quite spectacular. Very busy but we managed to get a good park regardless.
After we saw the spillway etc we drove across to the day area. I've been meaning to do that for awhile but never bothered. What a pretty area. Swings and playgrounds and heaps of space. The little cafe has reopened as well. Hoping to camp across the way in the camping areas some day soon.

Sienna.....Funny how you see scenes like that & take them for granted when you are brought up amongst them...This particular pic is taken not far from where we lived,,,,,goes like this 24 / 7....even in Summer.

Its one of the best features,,,and one I do miss about living in NZ.....over here the rivers look like the run upside down,,,,till you get further north.
Cheers
