Mill Creek camping ground (30 sites)
Wheelchair access: easy
You'll find accessible, flat grassy sites by the creek here. Composting toilets are wheelchair-accessible. Camping fees apply.
This camping area is surrounded by rugged sandstone escarpments and dense eucalypt forests. Wildlife abounds - including wombats, wallaroos, goannas, lyrebirds and tiny sugar gliders. Many animals rely on fallen wood for shelter, so please bring your own firewood. Gas barbecues are available. The camping area is a great base for bushwalking, photography and nature studies. For some sites, you'll need to walk a short distance from your car. There is a large group camping area for up to 30 people, and Mill Creek picnic area is only 500 m down the road. The Grass Tree Circuit Track takes you through rainforest, dry eucalypt forest and past axe grinding sites at creek crossings. The 11km Circuit Track is a hard rugged walk that ascends the escarpment areas (take plenty of water). Autumn, winter and spring are the most pleasant seasons for camping-during summer, the surrounding sandstone escarpments retain and reflect heat into the valleys.
