looking for campsite over xmas in vic?

Postby jaymi r » Sat Dec 04, 2010 5:17 pm

Hi there all!
I am new here, my partner and I moved from QLD for his work, we recently brought an Oztent from the 4WD expo and have'nt used it yet. We have been to slow to book any camp sites over the xmas period. Both very keen outdoorsy people and really hoping to wing sumthing threw the xmas period, 26-3 jan 2010 (fingers crossed).
We have young ones and really want to explore, water is preferred (any eg: lakes, rivers ocean)
If anybody has any suggestions please let us know.
We are enviro friendly love nature and really want to get amongst it this xmas.
Thank you
Jaymi

Welcome Jaymi

Check out the Parks Vic website, they have all their campsites listed and you can see what is still available through their booking site.

Welcome to the forum Jaymi :+

Good luck with your search....not an easy one.

We loved it down at Mallacoota. They have a huge caravan park there(650 sites). You might not be camped right on the water but within a short walk though. Nice little town too.

Yes you would definately have to ring and book a site.
I included the link in my last post which is their website for you to look at & it has the office number you have to call to book. If they have anything available and you will be surrounded by heaps of people so if its peace and quiet you are looking for it probably wouldn't suit you, but anywhere at that time of year is usually booked out or chokkas.

Glad to help & it is a beautiful spot with both lake and ocean and heaps of walks you can take. I put up a review herebut cannot find it on here at all now and it was only posted in late Oct????? Sorry not sure what happened to it.
