I have walked on that walkway many times Stevo and to see what happened with it on the TV is mind blowing to say the very least.

I wouldn't feel bad? I reckon there'd be heaps of people volunteering? I'm on forums where quite a few are signing up to that Qld volunteering organisation.

On the way over the Houghtin Highway Bridge going home, i saw a few pontoons floating, and a tinnie upsidedown. I see a lot of the stuff is ending up on Nudgee Beach.

I see they are talking about risk of further rain, which is unlikely, but gees that'd be a bugger.

yes stevo we do :*** :***

Am so happy, they have started up 2 relief centres at capalaba where we can drop off goods..I already have a carload full of gear and haven't finished sorting through things. We can also donate our time there, so glad there is something local where we can help and the professionals can get the gear where it should be going in safety.

Am so proud to be a Queenslander..Anna Bligh actually made me tear up today and was certainly an inspiration..."GO QUEENSLANDERS"

CB....they are making a point of asking people NOT to drop off goods as they have too much....they want money....as in cash.

Maybe you'd be better to donate it to Lifeline or the Salvos in your local area

Well the landline is back in action and the service breakdown had nothing to do the the horrible floods so many have endured.

When I bought this house some years ago I made a point of purchasing in a flood free area and whilst I sit high and dry it makes me sick to my stomach to see what has happened to so many others.

Flood insurance was never an issue for me as I knew I would not need it but how many of these flood victims were unable to get insurance......it is criminal.

However, seeing all the wonderful people out there helping with the big clean up and the community spirit lightens a somewhat very heavy heart. Keep up the good work....you do us proud.

Hi guys......who said you can 'kill a weed''....lol......

Heres an amzing pic that came out of the floods.......

Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures - this pic of a frog riding to safety on the back of a black snake sums up the outpouring of mateship that is one of the great positives fom the floods.
