Camping gear at Aldi

Postby padfoot » Sat Mar 12, 2011 9:31 pm

So I went to Aldi this morning looking for their cheap sleeping bags to find the sale actually starts next Thursday.
I did actually buy one of them last year but didn't get a chance to use it as it got stolen at my sons zoo snooze!
This one looks a slightly more mummy shaped so will let you know if they are any good.

Cheers
Annette

I personally have never had any issues with anything I have purchased at Aldi. I've not bought any camping gear though. Their 3 way camp fridges seem to be very popular.

Found the link.

So you can have a look for yourselves rather than rely on my half finished waffle.

Thanks for the link.....my only concern would be that it is a tapered sleeping bag....but then I am not much of a sleeping bag person. If you have no issues with the taper....then go for it padfoot.

They have quite a few camping items for sale...

If you got to Aldi the Wednesday night before the sale starts most of the things are already out and you can get them for the sale price.

Think that might depend on the particular store patty. I tried that last week when I wanted to buy the hand mincer and when I got there I was told that they would not be available for sale until the next morning, Thursday.

More good winter gear at Aldi on sale from the Sat 21st Jul.
They have a 2 man hiking tent for $ 69.99 which looks identical to a Campanion Pro Hiker 2 which is on ebay for $132.
Down sleeping bags $99.99. Down jackets for $50. Fleece jumpers for $20. Thermal Merino Underwear for $30.

That all sounds like a bargain to me. The down stuff particularly is really, really expensive at reg. retail normally.

Thanks Padfoot for the heads up. Must get online and have a look today.

Especially the thermal gear as my hubby wears it most of winter here to help with his dodgy hip (water skiing accident).

I need a new camping jacket too & so do our girls so will let you know if I buy anything and how it rates.
