Bushcamping on the Gold Coast?

Postby Schmid M » Wed Mar 16, 2011 5:50 pm

Hello everyone,

Me and my boyfriend would like to go bushcamping, preferably next to a river/lake/ocean.
Does anyone know any great locations around the Gold Coast? Like "secret-camping-spots"?

Your help is much appreciated.
Cheers

Oh Goody, that would be a rare find around the GC.

Can recommend the bush camping side of Spring Gully Stays at Canungra which is on a little creek and it is cheap at $15 per vehicle per night. http://www.springgullystays.com.au/

Another at Canungra is James Sharpe Park/River Bend Campground, again on a creek and $6 per person per night. http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/sh ... g/canungra

BTW.....WELCOME to the forum Schmid.

Hi Gordon, the Gold Coast is not what you'd call 'back country'....it is a tourist mecca, a very popular beach side resort area.

That is a good link for those of us who like to travel in Outback Australia though.

Exactly, that's why it's so hard to find something nice. Well it doesn't necessarily have to be on the GC, just not a 3 hours drive away.
Thank you very much for your help, guys. I appreciate it a lot.
