Burren Junction Free Camp

A place to talk about anything well just about anything (this is a family show remember).

Burren Junction Free Camp

Postby Val n Rob » Sat May 21, 2011 8:57 pm

Rob and I at Burren Junction. The water is warm. Days are good, nights are cool. We are enjoying cooking on our new fire. We were lucky to have a C&W singer camped next to us. Had a few lovely evenings with sing a longs. Another guy camped nearby came over with his fiddle and we had a really good night.
They local people of Burren Junction that maintain the camps trees and plants have a suggestion book in the toilets for campers to write ideas of what could be put in the park. Its unbelievable what some of the suggestions are!! People don't seem to realise that asking for unreasonable things will eventually cause the Council to put a charge on us all. I think it is fine the way it is. So do most of us. It is a great place to enjoy. You can't get much better than this for a donation!!!

Cheers Val

Thanks for the reminder Val.......I love that place. Had a few days there in November last year and can't wait to go back and it was fantastic.

I agree.....some people are just never satisfied. IMO......it is free, complete with thermal pool with showers and flush toilet and level sites.........what more can you really ask for.

There has already been some suggestion that a fee is being considered.

Caught up with Val at BJ a while back. BJ is a great place for a dip in the thermal pool and very popular at this time of year.

Must have been at least 35 caravans there & one little camper trailer.....me.

Check out this sign.......someone obviously has a great sense of humour.

Yes that is true and the guy next to me had been there for a week or more and was planning on staying another month. Appears to be no limit as to the time one stays at BJ.

Here are a couple more pics from my time in BJ. I too could happily have stayed for a month.

What's the temperature of the thermal pool?

Sounds good, it's a freezing 14 degrees here at the moment.

The BJ one is about 36/37 degrees most of the time. It is the Lightning Ridge one that never seems to get below 40 degrees.

Hey Gypsy, easy to see you are back, heaps of posts!!! We are still at Burren, more good mates have turned up so as there is no limit to the length of time stay we are making the most of it. I go swimming at 4.30 am ish great time cause no one is the pool. Pool temp is good, The Ridge is a lot hotter but you can't stay in too long, end up like a lobster - red!!!

Cheers, Val and Rob

Glad to be back too Val.....missed my daily dose of forum chat.

I also forgot to mention the great country singer Christina at BJ who invited us to her camp.....remember her?? Pity you could not make it as she was very good.
