How long do the butane bottles last? Just so I can work out how many to take for a weekend away.

About 1 hr 20mins from memory Scott......the first 20 - 30 mins is really intense heat and then it slows down after that. Still good cooking though.....just a bit slower.

For a weekend away, depending on amount of cooking you would be fine taking a 4 pack.

We bought a box of 12 for about $15 at either KMart or Big W. We have a couple of storage boxes and we just put two or three spares in there and one in the cooker. Not really sure how long they last - at a bit over $1 each I take as many as I can fit...

Oh that's ok then. I was thinking I'd need a whole can to cook dinner! I've got 8 cans in my camping box anyhow. I should be fine I think.

i used to use one of those $20 stoves with the spray can gas bottle, was ok, didn't go through many cans at all. Maybe one can for a weekend, if that.

Last time I tested one....it lasted approximately 1 hr 20 mins Scott.....you'll get more than one meal out of a can. Of course the overall length of time will depend on how long you run the stove set on High.
