Went to have a look at Cedar Falls a couple weeks ago.....and even after all the rain they have had up here over the last 12 months.....NO falls.

Nice water hole though.

Had to go for a run into Mackay the other day to sort out my CT insurance so decided to make a day of it and called in to Halliday Bay on the way.

Love this little bay and the tide was in this time so I saw it in a different light and it is still a very pretty little bay.

On the beach talking with an older gent who comes up from Adelaide every year for the winter and he told me I was about 10 mins too late to see a whale frolicking out to sea. -:(

Some holidaymakers had made a very large sand castle up the beach and a very nice looking mermaid…..pretty impressive.

The First Aid box shown and similar are on all the beaches up here as stingers and box jelly fish are prevalent from October to April and many of the beaches have signs warning of the dangers of swimming during those times.

What camera and lens are you using for your Flower and insect shots?

Thanks Titch, I use the same camera for all, thought I have recently upgraded. Anything with a date on it was taken on my Canon SXIS30 and the ones without a date were taken on my Olympus SP-560UZ

At this point feel the Olympus is a lot better at Macro or maybe I just have not gotten a handle on the Canon yet.
