:+ :+ :?# :?#

Thank you...thank you....thank you....sorry haven't been on, have been off travelling our beautiful south east for a few weeks, sailing and camping!!!

Had a wonderful birthday, went to Bestbrook Mountain Resort and chilled there for a few days with some friends. Woke up to horses all around my camp, a lovely fire, bacon and eggs and then off horseriding on my favourite mount "Cob" and was joined by my daughter, her friend and another family that joined us for the first time. They are now Bestbrook convertees!!

The first week spent sailing from Manly to Tangalooma, Bulwer, back down the inside to the Gold Coast (cause we got a gale warning and couldn't travel down the outside to Southport :( ), out to sea to do some whale watching and then home to Peel Island for mudcrab and whiting then back to Manly...one day at home to do washing and restock "Gus" (the camper) then off camping for 4 days..Gotta love Qld - we had the best weather! It was really cold at Bestbrook the Tuesday night - had to get the hot water bottles out !!!

The whales were absolutely amazing, mummy and calves stayed a suitable distance away but we had 2 inquisitive whales came from behind and surfaced right next to our yacht - "Gypsy Pearl" (you'll like that Gypsy 8) ) and played with us for about an hour. We got quite scared cause they under and I thought we might get a bump but they were so gentle and inquisitive and seemed to enjoy showing off. I was laughing, screaming, crying and shaking - it was a wonderful experience! They just swam around us as we sailed south at about 3.5 knots then decided they would go bye bye's ! Hope the photos work out!! enjoy.

Thanks Gypsy...go on a smaller boat if you can manage it and try calm weather :)

Thanks XB...We are very fortunate to be able to do both, sailing and camping..although it does make
for insteresting decision making come holiday time :)

Have just resized the photos from Bestbrook, some are taken from back in Mother's day, the creek was much fuller but we camped nearly at the same spot...shows how much the creek has gone down since!!

CB, do you want to put these reports and pic in the Park & Recreation Area Reviews under the heading of Best Brook. Even Camping Tips and Locations would also be a good choice.

It'll make it a better reference point there too.
