When we first started camping we always used tents and would set up and camp in a park for up to a week never had any trouble leaving our camp for the day I hope that is still true today

hope you enjoy yourself

Hi milo and welcome to our forum.

Re your question, yes I have seen this done many times in CPs.....backpackers do it all the time. My only recommendation is to make sure nothing valuable and/or attractive is left out in view and I would think you'd be right.

I would be a little more cautious if camping in a high tourist area in high tourist season.

The worst day camping still beats the best day working

We have never had anything stolen when we have camped in Caravan parks.

Like the others said just make sure all your valuables like ipods, putas, jewellery etc you take with you in the car and secure the food from animals and all should be ok.

Welcome to the's always nice to have new members here. :+
