Rays outdoors sell the companion branded one that takes the large butane cans, i think the cans are 220grams and the lantern itself burns about 48grams and hour (from memory), its been a while since i looked at one in the store. The fuel for them is pretty cheap $4-$5 at bunnings, kmart or bigw for 4 cans.
We use an old gas lantern instead of battery powered lighting, i love the small hiss the gas lantern gives and the light it puts off is massive compared to battery lanterns. The tip to making the gas last is only using it when you have to, if your all going off to use the toilet turn the gas lantern off and put a battery powered one on instead, as i wont leave our latern on unattended, also if your travelling with a gas lantern i would always carry a fire extinguisher.
Dont let the kids use them as they do get hot and they are likely to knock them over give them a battery one and see what i mean.
You can still get coleman gas lanterns that run on liquid fuels, but i would rather use the gas ones.
