Mark, I don't do CPs so it is a bit of a tough one for me, so let me put the thinking cap on.

I have been to the one at Esk and quite like it.....but that might not be what you are thinking of for Xmas.

I can also recommend Conway Beach but that may be too far north for you as it is up near Airlie Beach, north of Mackay.

And there is Kilkivan Caravan Park http://www.bushcamping.com.au/ I have been here several times and love it though it is now under different management.

I have also been to Bargara up Bundy way a few times. http://www.oceanfrontpark.com.au/

Also Woodgate is nice http://www.woodgatebeachtouristpark.com/

Hervey Bay http://www.palmsherveybay.com.au/ This is a pretty basic CP and it suits my purpose as it is pet friendly but I am sure there are others in HB that are quite lovely as well.

Yamba in NSW http://saltwater-yamba-holiday-park.nsw.big4.com.au/ and I have friends who have been to Yamba Waters CP and they say it is quite lovely. www.yambawaters.com.au

Maybe that will give you something to think about.

Another of our members Rosco, has been to a few around the place.....I am sure when he comes online he'll be able to recommend some more.
