Advice on camping between Melbourne and Adelaide

Postby Tango » Wed Jan 11, 2006 2:31 pm

Gidday. My husband and I will be visiting Australia for the first time in about 1 month. We thought it might be fun to maybe take a motorhome and tour the area between Melbourne and Adelaide. Does anyone have any advice on 1) the best motorhome to take? 2) Good areas to camp? 3) any other must-see sights? We both enjoy trekking, the beach, basically being outside but we also want to be cool and comfy in a motorhome when it's time to travel and sleep. What other things do we need to watch out for? Appreciate any information you can share. Thanks a lot, and we're looking forward to seeing your beautiful country and wonderful people. Cheers, Tango.

Don't miss the beautiful Great Ocean Road. Plenty of great spots to stop over night along the way and magnificent scenery. Your travel might also coincide with the World Lifesaving Titles being held in Geelong and Lorne in mid February. Have a magnificent trip!

Motorhome Trip

I do not have much experience in that neck of the woods and I think many of our regulars may be on holidays. As for a motorhome if you are renting I would suggest Britz (See link on homepage). They do sponsor all of this and we hear good things about them, they can also assist to some degree with holiday planning. Have you tried:
and such sites?
