May I make one suggestion that I discovered the hard way... for you own saftey and that of everyone else's put a steel cap on the end closest to the car. I snotted a car that ran a stop sign and upon impact the poles smashed through the end cap and became giant spears, one of which went through the rear tailgate skin and stopped at the rear seat narrowly missing my sleeping son. my tube now runs accross the trailer. just some food for thought.......

mr grumble what i found is have 1 pvc tube with screw cap on 1 end on the other have a fixed cap, reason being is if you have polls that extend just extend them when you pack away. just make sure you put a couple of screws in the fixed end for added strength & on the screw cap a hinged latch that you can lock, this prevnts the cap from unscrewing & stops your polls from going walkies. :)
