Hi, I am new to the forum so thought that it is only polite that I introduce myself (and I suppose the family!),

I am Mark, I have recently arrived from the UK with my wife and two daughters, well back in January (nearly 6 months!), in the Uk we were avid campers - first with a tent, then bought a trailer tent (review of our trailer tent that I wrote http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/articles/view.asp?id=130), which we took to france for 3 weeks last year and would usually head off to North Wales most weekends.

My wife swore that she would never camp in Australia - because of all the poisonous bitey things! But when we saw that the tents over here are geared up with loads of mesh fly screens good ventilation etc she soon got hooked again!

Our kit now consists of:
a Coleman Chalet 9 tent - which I would highly recomend.
A Waeco Tropicool Classic TC-32 - which we bought from the Waeco site for $180 (a mothers day special). Which we haven't used yet.
The usual airbeds, sleeping bags etc - brought from the UK.
Our most recent purchase is a Coleman Self-Inflating Queen Big Mat with Pillow - as the airbed we brought with us from the UK kept going down.
We have a lovely big trailer to store and tow it in!

We are living in WA, and have been down to Bunbury and Bussleton a couple of times and will be planning many more trips in the spring. We find it a great way to relax and unwind. :beer

Still amazed at how much Australians are into camping/caravans etc I suppose it's part of the outdoor lifestyle. We like sites with all the facilities, modern clean ablutions, swimming pools etc. I hope one day to own a 4WD and a folding camper and maybe go bush - but my wife is going to take some convicing to go to the toilet in a hole in the ground!

see you later

Mark :?#
Knock me down I'll get right back up again,
I'll come back stronger than a powered up Pac-Man!

Again welcome (and to Australia) .

Have to say I never picked North Wales as a camping venue!

Typical a pome fresh off the boat in WA :P

Welcome to the forums!

Typically we call trailer tents, camper trailers over here.

Wales sounds awesome. A former "interest" of mine lives in wales now (has done on and off for the last 5 years)

We might have poisonous bitey things - but they are pretty easy to avoid.
