Family friendly camping

Postby mytribe » Wed Mar 08, 2006 6:28 pm

Hi there, I'm new to the forum.

We go camping often but are looking for somewhere different to go. Live in Victoria, outer burbs of Melb and usually go camping around Kinglake NP, Lake Eildon area's.

Going camping this weekend, but before we go somewhere we've been several times before thought I'd ask if there's anywhere else interesting.

Things we need, pit toilet, dog friendly, kid friendly, fishing, 4wding(not too experienced though) umm think that's about it.

Need a bit of space as we take 4 kids with us, and use 3 tents.

camping in Vic

Postby ruffcamp » Sun Mar 12, 2006 5:31 pm

G'day mytribe,
We have just found the camping bug after going to a really cool place on the Murry called Ulupna Island. The area we went to was free, had drop toilets (but did not come across one), was dog friendly and had pleanty of space to spral. We ended up with a camp site that was just on the water with a safe place to swim and trhow a line in (did'nt catch anything though). Ulupna Isalnd is has sinage from the town of Strathemerton and can be found easily in the VicRoads. Would love to hear more about the places you have gone that are dog friendly & free.
