Hi everybody,
I have only just joined in and I'm 47 on Mothers Day. Just got back from 5 days in Lake Conjola and had the the worst rain I have ever experienced camping. Kids still enjoyed themselves.

Everyone pretends to be shy about their age...but this thread has more replies than nearly any other??? :*** And y do people state their age and then tell us they will be 1 yr older on their next birthday...I'm no mathematician... :*** but "ya dont say". My two cents worth anyway.

I'm 27, and yes, I will be 28 this yr, unless I die 1st. My wife is 25 for the next few weeks anyway. We have a 3y/o son (I'm hoping he stays 3y/o)and 1 in the oven. We have a 5y/o blue healer bitch that loves camping more than we do, and fish (not to sure of the age of the fish tho)

I'd like to point out that I'll be 45 on my birthday in 2012 if I'm still around.

Just so everyone is spared doing the maths, I worked it all out by myself.

Let's see ... 5 from 45 = 40.

You're forty this year Fonty!

Gypsy,

Its not that alot of people in the forum are 40ish but are exactly 40 (My wife and I have turned 40 in recent months).

Perhaps there is something in that. :cheers

Anyhow the rest of the family, son 5, daughter 3, dog 10 and cat 13.

I'm not sure about the label Prime of life, makes me sound like a cut of beef, and as a vegetarian that doesn't sit too well. Image

Some people would call us middle aged though I reckon you can't label us middle aged except backwards from our deaths.. so if I'm middle aged now I should live till I'm 80 or so but if I live longer than that I'm not quite middle aged just yet.

I do think we're far more capable of having fun in our later years than we were before. In my case that's true anyway- far too many people were ordering me around when I was a kid to enjoy that much- being a kid when you're 40 is much more fulfilling coz as a rule not as many people are old enough to tell you off anymore.

:***

/me runs off to splash in some puddles.
