The official Pad/Chit chat thread...

A place to talk about anything well just about anything (this is a family show remember).

Well done on the van DQ, I would have given the salesman a lot more than he would have bargained for. I think it is disgusting that he could treat you in such a way. You should have lead him along just for the fun of it. He cannot legally get you to sign a contract without confirming a buy price anyway.
I was also treated in a similar way when I bought the Hilux. I went to two toyota dealerships (one a very well marketed one) and they didnt take me seriously. Mind you, I was renovating the house at the time and could have put on a drycleaned suit for the task. I then went to the local Toyota dealership and spoke with the owner and I signed the contract that day. One sparkling new SR5 please sir. Since then, I have the Rav from him, my brother bought a car from him and they do all the vehicle servicing. Not bad for somebody who didnt judge a book by its cover.
Hey Ozzy, Im thinking we may be the last swagmen here. All this talk about vans is making me think Im doing it all wrong.

Cheers

Cheiffy
Please sir, Can I have some more? Time off that is.

I was going to mention that too ... DQ would be so impressed.

I was going to name the dealer but wasn't sure about slander etc - although if it's true, it shouldn't matter. To date, have received no reply from them - should I be surprised??

Assuming you wrote to them yesterday I'd give them a week or so ... and 'no' you shouldn't be surprised ... :?

I emailed them both so would have expected some reply by now. I can only assume if I get no reply from the dealer, that the salesman spun a different story. And if Jayco head office don't reply, I guess they don't care cause they got the sale anyway! :x

I should stop worrying about it as it's just putting a bad slant on an otherwise happy event - finally purchasing our first camper! :)

Hey? Can you believe how long this thread has gone on for?? 8)

Is "blame" another word for "thank"??

I knew we had it in us! Now we just need to think of something else interesting to talk about.........at least until we get our camper - then I'll have some serious camping stories! 8)

You mean you don't have any now?

We'll cope ...

Hopefully we can be the pioneers to get this forum up and running ... so many ppl registered and so few taking part ... shame really.

Someone had a point a while back - a general "chit chat" thread might be the go. To be fair, whenever I've had a question (or an interesting tale), people are more than willing to join in. Maybe they're just bored...? :?

If it takes off it would be needed otherwise threads will become 'hijacked' ... at this stage it prbably isn't worth it ... on other forums they have threads such as "Where have you been", "where are you going" etc.

I've posted up my next 12 months worth of camping trips ... well the one's I know of ... but you can't do it here ... and the thing is ppl might be able to offer advice on some spots to visit at the location you are going to.

It's worked for me a couple of times.
