I forgot about the car ... ... sorry about that!

Don't forget you can still go in a conventional vehicle to many places ....we used to do that ... infact we go to many place in a 4wd that a conventional vehicle can go to!

Hervey Bay is great! My 13y/o reckons he's got some of the best mates he's ever had (and for him to say that is REALLY something). We've just come back from Poona (about 1 hr south of the Bay) and had a great time. Honestly, there are soooooo many camp spots here within 2 hrs drive it's amazing ... we 'wussed' it and stayed at a caravan park BUT it was only about a quarter full so still pretty quiet. We took our dog and didn't even need to put him on the lead and no-one seemed to care ... just the opposite really!

I'm also meetng new freinds (and they are a top bunch too). Went out with one guy and his family this weekend ... he's a newbie to the Bay as well and both families got on well.

All I can say is if you're thinking of moving here ... DON'T ... I like it just the way it is.

Not yet ... but I'm not in a rush either ... heaps of bloody back packers and tourists there. I'm happy just sticking to the out-of-the-way coastal spots here (there's heaps!). Very quiet and not too many ppl. That's good enough for me!

Well after 15 yrs in a major city it was time to move somewhere smaller. It took us about 2 yrs to settle on Hervey Bay and although it has been a long wait I reckon it's the right move. My son has settled in very well socially ... I jsut wish I could say the same for his school work ...
