Heading off for a few days

Postby SMP » Fri Sep 21, 2007 5:26 pm

Heading off to the Big desert section of Wyperfeld Nat park over the weekend. The Maverick is packed to the gunnels (the wife and two teenagers). Going in Chinamans Well track and out Milmed Rock Track. Weather looks good but bound to be cold at night. (0 Deg) First for the season. Looking forward to a glass of red under a stary night. Cheers, Scott.

Did have a good time. Weather great, no arguments. From lunch time Saturday until early Tuesday afternoon saw only three cars and heard another one. Fantastic country (if you like that sort of thing). Had a Dingo howling at the near full moon one night not far from camp. (Dingos do howl don't they?) A novelty for a Victorian. The only unfortunate occurence was letting three young blokes in trumped up vehicles go past and then following the trail of stubbies. I can't understand it. It must simply be the use of the bush, not the appreciation of it. Scott.

We came across dicks like that at The Watagans except they also included dirt bike riders too. broken glass everywhere and ruined the campsites for families with young children.
