Mt Mee - Qld - 29/09/07

Postby stevo. » Sat Sep 29, 2007 6:47 pm

went for a drive at Mt Mee today. I went as passenger in my Dads new Hilux, we tagged along with a mate while he was doing a reccy for a day run. Most tracks at Mt Mee can be done in 2wd. The swimming hole called Rocky Hole can be accessed with a 2wd car via The Gantry/Rangers Station. If anyone knows the area, all the hard options on the sides of tracks have been blocked off by big logs. The hard option at the end of Dianas Bath track has been blocked off too. We went down Jacky Creek Road, then to Dianas Bath, then up A Break and on to Rocky Hole. All relatively easy 4wding with low range advised for some sections on Jacky Creek Road and A Break.

Nothing wrong with snakes Alma. I play with mine on a regular basis. I fed her earlier. Oh yeah! She is a Children's Python. Almost 2 y.o.

Mind you, I give venomous snakes a wide birth. :***

Meeky,

Did you take the 2wd up A Break?

Haven't done the drive yet, but in the Dirty Weekends book thy say they are going to a build power station near Diana's bath, so I guess it will be all bitumen soon, and then you have to contend with all the motorbikes and sports cars like everywhere else. Going to Neurum Creek soon so was hoping to give it a go.

we had 4wds. You need a 4wd to do A Break. You could get most of the way to Diannas Bath in a 2wd, but i wouldn't recommend it. You'd have to stop and walk a fair way.

There's been a Power Link sign behind a big gate along that track for years. I can't see it being bitumen for a long time yet, it's in the middle of no where. Could be wrong though.

weeeellllllll, that's a "How long is a peice of string" question.

You can access Mt Mee via lots of roads, and it's a maze of tracks. You can spend a whole day driving around and still not see it all.

Are you interested in some 4wding which requires low gear?(easy 4wding) or do you just want to do easy 2wd stuff.

Mt Mee is located just behind the town called Dayboro. There's probably a fair bit of general info on websites about the place. Most people would go for a bbq/picnic at the Gantry/Ranger Station, there's a big park there and easy 2wd access. From there it's an easy 5 min drive to Rocky Hole for a swim.
