Fraser Island is amazing

My family travelled to Fraser Island this school holidays, we camped along the beach in the Winham camping area, we had plenty of shade and some grassed areas and we could walk to the beach anytime. Our kids pitched their tents on a grassed hill, they had a great view of the ocean. We had several hours at lake Mckenzie, paddled Eli Creek and drove all the way to Indian head etc. Driving on the inland roads are magnificent trees & ferns well worth a look, we saw many whales playing and had no problem with dingos, saw 5 or 6 from a distance. A very beautiful island If you dont have a 4wd, tour buses run daily. Definetely a holiday to remember, we also took some very spectacular photos.

Gday Fraser island is just the most awesome place in OZ we went there a couple of years back i cant wait to get back there. People that live up that way i reckon are pretty lucky cause all the great camp spots and places to go. As far as dingoes go we could hear them howling but never saw one!

Lucky you didn't go back over the Christmas break - you would have been evacuated!

Fraser is a top sopt - we're hoping to get back there in a few months time.

Thats right, we were there soon after the August cyclone, the workers were rebuilding the Eli creek walkways then, hopefully they don't have to rebuild them again!! Happy Camping everyone 8)
